On October 19th, the film community and lovers of the seventh art will gather for the first edition of the Mexica Film Awards 2023, set to take place at the iconic León Trotsky Museum House, located at Av. Río Churubusco 410, Del Carmen, Coyoacán, 04100 Mexico City.

These awards, conceived by renowned filmmaker and director of international festivals, Antoni Caimari Caldés from Mallorca, aim to highlight and elevate the excellence of authorial and independent cinema from Mexico and Ibero-America. They seek to give recognition, a voice, and a platform to films that, due to their unique and visionary nature, deserve wider acknowledgment and exposure.

The event will be hosted by renowned journalist Luis Magaña, who will guide attendees through an evening filled with excitement and acclaim. Furthermore, the awards night will feature the presence of Tino Cheschitz, co-director of the event and prominent Costume Director, and actress Mara López, both of whom will have the honor of presenting some of the evening’s most anticipated awards.

We invite media outlets to bear witness to this historical event, which will undoubtedly create a landmark moment in the appreciation and promotion of authorial and independent cinema in our region.
