The 5th edition of the New York City Films Infest Festival will take place on October 29th, an international film festival dedicated to promoting independent filmmakers, with a special focus on talent from the Balearic Islands through its Balearic Section. This festival was created by Mallorcan filmmaker Antoni Caimari Caldés, with its first three editions held in Mallorca under the name Films Infest before moving to New York, where it has continued to grow successfully.

Additionally, German actress residing in Mallorca, Carmen Molinar, has been nominated for Best Actress in the Balearic Section for her performance in the short film The Perfect Woman (2023), directed by Alisa Selishchava.
This year, Mónica Bardem and Antonio Meléndez Peso have been nominated for Best International Actress and Best International Actor, respectively, for their performances in the finalist film Intersex (2024), directed by Tomás Aceituno Maldonado.

This year, a new category has been introduced: Best AI Film, dedicated to films created using artificial intelligence. The renowned filmmaker Dong Hyun Lee will attend from Korea to present his film After the Showers, 2069 (2024).
It is also important to highlight that the festival has become an official IMDB event, where you can view awards from previous editions. Esteemed figures in cinema, such as Claudia Cardinale, Ventura Pons, Laura Zapata, Carmen Maura, Ana de Armas, and many more prestigious talents, have been honored.
Mallorcan composer Rubén Gallardo has been nominated for Best Original Score Composer for his work on Mirror Stacy (2024), directed by Arabella Sharkey from New York.
The festival is supported by collaborators such as Cineastas y Artistas Unidos (Cine Art), the Asociación Nacional Antoni Caimari Alomar, and the Leon Trotsky Museum in Mexico City, strengthening the festival’s mission of uniting countries and cultures through cinema.
